Taking two to three minutes a day to floss, brush and rinse can help keep you healthy for a lifetime. Flossing once a day and brushing twice a day removes debris and bacterial plaque that collects in between and around teeth. Rinsing with an antibacterial rinse destroys bacteria throughout the mouth. Bacteria in the plaque can contribute to dental decay and periodontal disease (gum disease). Research suggests the bacteria that cause gum disease can be a contributing factor in some health problems such as heart disease, respiratory infection, preterm low birth weight babies, and diabetes. For a healthy mouth and healthy body, take a few minutes to brush, floss and rinse.
